Mark Kimura Photography of Native Birds

Mark Kimura, Ph.D., is a local bird photographer and a researcher at the University of Hawaii at Hilo . He is originally from Japan . He studies the long-term societal sustainability of the island of Hawaii including its population, industry, agriculture, pollution and quality of life in general. Several years ago, Mark started working with scientists and students at Tropical Conservation Biology and Environmental Science (TCBES) Graduate Program at UH Hilo and has been fascinated by the beauty of Hawaii’s rich natural environments, especially its mystic native forest birds, and since then he has devoted his photographic endeavors to native birds in Hawaii.
